Every detail has been carefully considered to create the ultimate small boat. From stability and ride comfort to layout and usability, FatCats are packed with clever design features that set them apart from traditional small boats.

Some of the key features that make FatCat Boats unique include:

Catamaran Hull - Smooth Ride

Dual hulls cut through the waves and the deck traps air which softens landings.

Space through shape

Looking from above, Catamaran hulls are rectangular rather than wedge-shaped. The basic geometry of a catamaran enables all the available space to used!

Shallow Draft

By spreading the boat weight over 2 shallower hulls rather than a single deep vee, FatCats can float in less water enabling shallower launching, retrieval and general use.

More Beam, More Space

FatCats are Fat! Being wide beamed enables more space, more stability and a higher safety factor!

Dries Out Flat!

If the tide goes out, 2 hulls means the boat sits level on the beach/mud. It doesn't topple to the side like a monohull

Flat Floor - Nothing to trip on!

The floor (cockpit sole) is flat. There are no steps or bulkheads to trip over.

Super Stable

Just as a 4 legged stool is more stable than a single post, Catamarans are more stable than monohulls because the bulk of the reserve buoyancy available to them is at the sides rather than in the centre.

Safe, Level Floatation

FatCat hulls are injected with foam making them float level and support passengers even if all bungs are left out and the boat is completely swamped both inside and out!

Self Draining Floor

The floor (Cockpit sole) is above the waterline. It will drain both sea and rainwater without the need for a bilge pump or forward propulsion - Such an amazing safety feature!

High Sides

Relative to other boats of this length, FatCats have high coamings keeping passengers inside, and for our Aussie friends, the crocodiles outside.

Tough Construction

FatCats are rotomoulded and fabricated from recyclable polymers making them tough, durable and requiring less maintenance than other marine materials.

My world has opened up dramatically going from a 4m alloy dinghy to a FatCat 4000. It's easily tripled in size in terms of comfort, distance I can travel, stability, space, size, height. We do things in this boat we’d never dream of in the other - It’s just so easy. I use the boat for fishing, diving, snorkling. I catch Kingi’s off it.
